Our People

The Source Certain scientific team comprises forensic scientists, analytical chemists and geochemistry specialists.

Our scientists are all regarded as leaders in their field. All are highly experienced having worked in a complex scientific investigation area for over 10 years. They are actively involved in cutting-edge scientific research and education and collectively hold over 300 peer-reviewed publications. Our experts have published extensively in the disciplines of forensic science, analytical chemistry, geochemistry, forensic chemistry, food science and forensic entomology.

The technical team pioneered and commercialised provenance science and over the past 40 years have published scientific articles about the application of this science to food and non-food products. This includes; meat, dairy, fruit and vegetables, Australian native fruits, art media and artwork, diamonds, precious metals including gold, cannabis, tea, coffee, chocolate, ceramics, glass and textiles.

    Rob McKenzie has extensive experience as a corporate and dispute resolutions lawyer and is currently a partner of McKenzie Moncrieff Lawyers and counsel at Blackwall Legal LLP.

    He was a partner of a major national law firm, Clayton Utz, and its predecessor firms for 22 years, culminating in being national head of reconstruction. He was also a partner and board member of Jackson McDonald, Western Australia’s largest independent law firm.

    He is currently a director of Keystart Loans Ltd, owned by the WA Housing Authority, where he chairs the risk committee. In addition to this, he is a director of the Australian Institute of Neuro-Rehabilitation and is the chairman of the Perron Institute for Neurological and Translational Science.

    Rob is also a member of the Federal Government Takeovers Panel which adjudicates disputes in company takeover matters and is on the panel of mediators for Immediation, an online dispute legal technology platform that aims to enable more convenient access to dispute resolution.

    In addition to this, he has acted or acts for a range of major accounting firms, financiers, developers, listed, public and major private companies and government agencies in a wide range of industries on complex matters.

    Rob has also lectured part time at the University of Western Australia in a number of corporate law areas and has prepared and delivered numerous papers to an array of industry representative bodies.

    Cameron Scadding is a Forensic and Analytical Chemist, a globally recognised and respected expert in his discipline with extensive complex forensic investigation experience. Cameron has specific experience and expertise in supply chain integrity, security and managing supply chain risks.

    Cameron’s supply chain and forensic skill set have made him a leading consultant across many sectors including agriculture, seafood, cannabis, critical and strategic minerals, gold and diamonds. He is invited to speak regularly on global trends in supply chain integrity, specifically around agri-food, the integrity of food, food fraud, transparency, trust, traceability and provenance. 

    Cameron is a vocal advocate of connecting customers to the sources of food and products by developing tools, systems and platforms that mediate transparency within the supply chain. 

    In addition to his role as Managing Director of Source Certain, Cameron was a founder of Source Certain and a founder and the CEO of TSW Global and TSW Analytical.

    Anthony Shields is the Managing Director of Asymmetric Investment Management Pty Ltd, a Perth-based investment manager specialising in private debt. Prior to this, Anthony established and managed an investment portfolio for a large family office in Perth, Western Australia. He was responsible for asset allocation and portfolio management, risk management, investment and macro-economic analysis.

    He currently sits on the board of another Perth-based family office, advising on investment strategy and portfolio management and is also a non-executive director of Carnegie Clean Energy Limited (ASX:CCE). Prior to his family office investment roles, Anthony worked for Deutsche Bank in equity and derivatives sales and trading and for Macquarie Bank as an equity analyst and institutional equity sales and trading.

    Katherine is Source Certain’s Chief Commercial Officer and is responsible for driving significant growth through domestic and global markets, key partner client engagement, executing strategic sales plans, commercialisation of new technologies and services and increasing market share for our service pillars.

    Katherine is a highly effective and motivated executive with 12 years of senior operational leadership experience within the biotechnology industry. Her major capabilities span key stakeholder engagement, operational leadership, strategic planning, national/international technical business development, project management/execution, budget planning and global distribution negotiation.

    Originally from New Zealand and residing in Melbourne, Katherine is a dedicated supporter of the All Blacks and is now a loyal AFL supporter as a member of the Western Bulldogs.

    Rachel is Source Certain’s Chief Operating Officer and ensures the right solutions are designed for our clients so they can solve the problems which are preventing them from moving forward in their business.

    Rachel’s areas of expertise are forensic investigation, analysis of trace evidence and multivariate statistical interpretation. She has over 16 years experience as an analytical and forensic chemist and helped found the company in 2016. She was previously a Director and co-founder of TSW Analytical.

    Rachel is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Forensic Science Society and served on its committee between
    2006 to 2020, and served as Vice President from 2011 to 2012.

    Rachel is a mother to three very active young boys and spends a lot of time assisting in local community matters and committees. She is a self declared North Melbourne Kangaroos ‘tragic’ and supports Manchester United. 

  • Nick Fiori Chief Financial Officer
    Nick Fiori Chief Financial Officer

    Nick Fiori is a Chartered Accountant with experience in restructuring and corporate finance transactions.

    His previous transaction experience included developing financial forecasting models for debt facility applications and assisting companies with valuations, merger & acquisition transactions and capital raisings.

    Nick joined the Company in February 2021 and is responsible for providing insights into the financial and operational performance of the business.
