Source Certain’s scientists assist with forensic investigations. Our team are experienced forensic scientists who have worked in the physical evidence and death scene investigation areas.
Our team works with our clients, including police, in the recovery, identification, analysis and interpretation of data that is determined from the scene of crime materials or other potential evidence submitted in connection with the investigation.
Source Certain’s team of scientists have a long history of successfully supporting law enforcement, regulators, industry associations, and businesses.
Our provenance verification technology, TSW Trace, is an accepted forensic method by the courts and has extensive application within our forensic service. It has been successfully applied in:
- Tracing stolen gold back to its mine of origin (gold fingerprinting);
- Linking evidence recovered from crime scenes and persons of interest (glass, metals, plastics, paints); and
- Tracing stolen diamonds back to the mine of origin (diamond fingerprinting) and/or determining if recovered diamonds are natural or synthetic.
